Betts 6-inch emergency valve meets HM183 requirements for an internal self-closing stop valve. Furthermore, the body consists of aluminum and includes a shear section that meets the requirements of 49CFR178.345-8 as tested per TTMA RP 84. In addition to this, the body, disc holder, and bonnet assembly come standard with a black epoxy coat. This is for added corrosion protection.
Moreover, the valve is available in a flanged or grooved outlet with available body configurations of straight, 90° elbow, or tee style. Lastly, we supply valves with universal lever arms that have multiple mounting holes for versatile cable attachment.
Consequently, the Maximum Operating Pressure defines the maximum tank pressure that a typical mechanical operator can open the valve against.
- Maximum Operating Pressure: 12 psi [.83 bar]
- Valve MAWP: 25 psi [1.7 bar]
- Minimum Bursting Pressure:Â 100 psi [6.9 bar]
CAUTION: The valve must be properly installed and maintained. Never bottom load through the emergency valve without first opening the valve. Failure to do so may result in damage to the tank and/or valve.
